Fr. Andrew Beerman, Pastor
Fr. Andrew Beerman graduated from St. James High School in St. James and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona. He studied theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, while attending the North American College Seminary. While in Rome he received a license in the field of moral theology. He was ordained in 1996 and has served as parochial vicar in Rochester, pastor of St. Catherine’s in Luverne and St. Mary’s in Ellsworth, dean of formation/vice rector and then rector at IHM Seminary, pastor of St. Adrian in Adrian, St. Anthony in Lismore, Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wilmont and St. Kilian in St. Kilian. He was appointed to be pastor at St. John Vianney and Holy Family on December 20, 2016. He has two sisters and one brother, but both of his parents are deceased. Other responsibilities in the diocese include: spiritual director of Pathways TEC,and coordinator of Totus Tuus in Winona Diocese.
Dawn Petrowiak, Parish Secretary
Dawn Petrowiak has been employed for St. John Vianney Church and School since May of 2007. She is married to Larry, and together they have 3 daughters; Celia, Macy and Holly who have all attended St. John Vianney School. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, gardening, walking and camping, attending school activities, dancing and simply spending time with family. After several moves while growing up, she graduated from Fairmont High School and is proud to be a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and employed at St. John Vianney Church.
Bridget Becker, Liturgy, RCIA and Adult Faith Formation
Bridget grew up in Eastern Iowa and after graduating from Iowa State with a degree in engineering spent over 10 years working as a software engineer. Having volunteered in various religious education roles over the years, she responded to God’s call to serve by enrolling in the Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry program at the University of Portland. After finishing the program she worked at a parish in Portland, OR before moving to Fairmont. A desire to be closer to family has brought her and her husband, Roger here to St. John Vianney Church in August, 2013.
Lisa Hady, Administrative Finance Manager
Lisa joined the staff in May 2017. She grew up in Fairmont and attended St. John Vianney School and Fairmont High School. She has 2 sons: Seth and Ethan, and 1 daughter; Hannah, who all attend St. John Vianney School. She has been a member of St. John Vianney Church her whole life. Lisa’s position includes: Accounts payable and receivable, payroll and financial reports for St. John Vianney Parish and Holy Family.
Katie Stone, Faith Formation 7-10 & Youth Ministry
Katie grew up in Princeton, IL, attended Saint Louis Catholic School & Princeton High School. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College, South Bend, IN. In 1988, Katie served as a Lay Associate with the Sisters of the Holy Cross, working as a hospital social worker and in the outreach clinic. Her primary goal is to provide our youth a strong foundation in faith. Katie’s position includes: coordinating Faith Formation for grades 7-10; Confirmation preparation; and youth ministry. She joined the SJV staff on April 16, 2015.
Tamarae Schmidt, Faith Formation: K-6th
Tamarae Schmidt has been the Director of Faith Formation for kindergarten through sixth grade since 2010. Her responsibilities include sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, as well as directing the annual Advent and Lenten Adventures. Tamarae also coordinates our children’s ministries: Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She enjoys helping the youth have fun while growing in their faith.
Ron Sandhurst, Custodian
Ron graduated from Fulda High School in 1974 and operated a construction and cabinet shop in Fulda till 1980 with 2 cousins and an uncle. Ron moved to Fairmont and was employed by Tech Builders as a finishing carpenter, working mainly on cabinets and trim. Ron received his boiler license from Jackson Tech and began working at St. John Vianney in 1984. There isn’t anything Ron can’t fix or build.
